Job description

The Experienced Clinical Nurse on the GU/Breast/Hospital Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes, and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in an acute care setting. Shift will be 7pm-7am, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $32.70 - Midpoint $50.48 - Maximum $68.27

- Three 12-hour shifts per week, 1872 hours per year (minimum)

Clinical Nurses relocating from 100+ miles from MD Anderson will also qualify for up to $10,000 in relocation assistance!
A 30-bed inpatient unit providing care to adult medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease related symptoms, pain control, treatment related side effects; chemotherapy and biotherapy administration: patient and family teaching. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice, and the team actively participates in Evidence Based Practice, unit and hospital-based committees, and local and national conferences.

EDUCATION
  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160). Upon Hire

  • Preferred: Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
