Job description

Sayres is seeking Design Engineer IV with ability to obtain secret clearance in in Philadelphia PA.

This is a significant engineering and technical support effort tied to the Navy's propulsion, power generation, and ship systems testing infrastructure located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The contract supports some of the Navy's most critical land-based test facilities before technologies are installed aboard ships.

Position Summary (Contingent)

The Design Engineer IV provides senior-level engineering design support for mechanical, structural, electrical, and fluid systems. This position develops complex engineering solutions and ensures compliance with applicable standards, codes, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review complex engineering designs and drawings.
  • Utilize CAD software to create and modify technical designs.
  • Evaluate material specifications and fabrication methods.
  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Support design reviews and technical assessments.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, testing, and installation teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Design.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering design experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Experience applying mechanical, structural, electrical, or fluid system standards and codes.
