Contract Representatives are professionals responsible for negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts on behalf of their organization. They ensure that agreements comply with legal requirements and company policies, and often act as a liaison between their employer and clients, vendors, or government agencies. Their duties may also include monitoring contract performance, resolving disputes, and ensuring all parties meet their obligations. This role is crucial in minimizing risk and facilitating smooth business transactions.

Contract Representative III – Government Contracts (FAR/DFARS)

Cradle-to-Grave Contract Management | Federal Government Contracts | Capture & Proposal Support

If you're an experienced Government Contracts professional who thrives on managing complex federal contracts from proposal through closeout, this is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team supporting critical national security and defense programs. We're looking for a Contract Representative III who can confidently navigate the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), lead negotiations, mitigate contractual risk, and serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and government customers.

This is a highly visible role with significant involvement in capture strategy, proposal development, contract negotiations, and contract administration throughout the entire contract lifecycle.

What You'll Do

As a Contract Representative III, you'll independently manage a portfolio of complex government contracts while partnering with program management, finance, legal, business development, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete cradle-to-grave administration of federal contracts, including BOAs, IDIQs, OTAs, R&D, EMD, and production contracts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government customers on contractual matters.
  • Support and lead contractual activities throughout the Business Winning Process, from capture planning through contract award.
  • Develop negotiation strategies that maximize business opportunities while minimizing contractual risk.
  • Partner with capture and proposal teams to review solicitations, evaluate contract terms, and shape favorable pre-award outcomes.
  • Lead compliance efforts related to the Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act, including disclosures, proposal sweeps, and certifications.
  • Analyze contract terms and conditions, identify risks, and recommend practical business solutions.
  • Drive contract setup, administration, modifications, and change management activities.
  • Interpret contract requirements throughout execution and resolve contractual issues between customers and internal teams.
  • Support negotiations for equitable adjustments, contract modifications, and change proposals.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract files and oversee contract closeout activities.
  • Mentor junior contract professionals and provide guidance on best practices and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a contracts professional who combines strong federal contracting knowledge with exceptional communication, negotiation, and business judgment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Contracts, Legal Studies, or a related field.
    • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5–10+ years of experience managing U.S. Government contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
    • Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
    • Government contract lifecycle management
    • Contract types including IDIQ, BOA, OTA, Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Price, and Time & Materials
  • Experience supporting proposal development, contract negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple business functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or national security programs.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as:
    • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM)
    • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
  • Knowledge of intellectual property considerations in government contracting.
  • Experience mentoring junior contracts professionals.

Security Clearance

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred: Current active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Why You'll Enjoy This Opportunity

  • High-impact role supporting mission-critical government programs
  • Significant involvement in capture strategy and proposal development
  • Opportunity to negotiate complex, high-value federal contracts
