About the role
  • Rancho BioSciences is seeking an early/mid-career business development professional to drive business growth in the Boston/New England area.
  • This role will drive Rancho's business growth in biotech and small/mid-sized pharma and life science organizations. The ideal candidate will have experience selling data science, bioinformatics, informatics, and consulting products and services into these customer segments. This is an excellent opportunity to grow as part of a dynamic and collaborative global team in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do
  • Sell the entire Rancho portfolio of data, analytics, and informatics services and products to biotech, small/mid-sized pharma, and life science companies. These include, Bioinformatics, curated databases, data engineering services, and data strategy consulting services.
  • Identify new potential business prospects and build a pipeline of opportunities through various activities including leveraging network, desk-bound research, cold calling, attending events, networking, etc.
  • Meet/exceed assigned quarterly and annual sales targets assigned for your territory.
  • Identify/contact/nurture key decision makers at prospect and existing accounts and facilitate meetings with the technical teams and senior leadership as required. This role will collaborate extensively with our technical and solutioning teams, and the business unit heads in engaging with clients in a consultative approach.
  • In both existing and new accounts utilize strong sales skills throughout the sales cycle to understand client needs, identify opportunities, coordinate presentations, work with solutioning team to share client-facing proposal, and close deals.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to negotiate contracts and/or proposals and build long-term relationships with both clients and internal partners.
  • Using CRM, maintain up to date sales information, visit reports, forecasts/pipelines, report individual sales results and analysis/interpretation of sales trends.

Qualifications
Required
  • You are a collaborative pioneering, hunter, not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • Minimum 2 years of Sales experience in the Life Sciences industry; ideally with experience selling data and informatics services and products to Pharma and Biotech companies
  • A solid understanding of drug discovery and development, and a strong scientific background
  • A strong network including leaders and decision makers in the Boston/New England area
  • Familiarity with scientific data ecosystems, AI/analytics, or digital R&D platforms
  • Experience working in a global organization spanning multiple time zones and cultures
  • You are a true team player who inspires others with unquestionable integrity and professionalism, combined with an obsession with customer-centricity

Nice to Have
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences
  • Experience in selling stand-alone services is highly desirable

Note: the salary range for this role refers to Base Salary only. This position will also be eligible for a performance-related bonus, defined by sales targets and an annual Sales Compensation Plan. More information available through the interview process.
The pay range for this role is:
125,000 - 150,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
