Job description

Job Title: Master Scheduler

Job Description

The Master Scheduler leads program and production planning, capacity management, and material coordination within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on complex, multi-level bill of material (BOM) structures and long-lead procurement cycles, ensuring production readiness, schedule accuracy, and alignment with overall program objectives. The Master Scheduler works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain an optimized Master Production Schedule and support long-range planning.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and optimize the Master Production Schedule to support program and production goals.
  • Analyze capacity, labor, and material constraints to ensure realistic and achievable production plans.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to align schedules with demand, resources, and technical requirements.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Support MRP processes by ensuring accurate data, planning parameters, and alignment between MRP outputs and the Master Production Schedule.
  • Contribute to long-range planning efforts, including forecasting resource needs and supporting long-lead procurement strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling processes, tools, and practices to enhance efficiency and schedule reliability.
  • Use Microsoft Project and other scheduling tools to develop, maintain, and communicate detailed program and production schedules.
  • Communicate schedule status, risks, and recovery plans clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to resolve scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and capacity issues.

Essential Skills

  • 3–7 years of scheduling experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong proficiency with MRP systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-level BOM environments and long-lead procurement cycles.
  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Project for detailed scheduling and project tracking.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed scheduling decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, supply chain, and engineering teams.
  • Proven problem-solving mindset, with the ability to address capacity, labor, and material constraints.
  • Experience supporting program or project scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Aviation industry experience or experience is preferred.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is preferred.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement in planning and scheduling processes.
  • Familiarity with long-range planning and forecasting in a manufacturing context.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
