Job Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to deliver BAU and production support for AWS infrastructure and batch processing workloads. The role ensures high availability, operational stability, and on-time completion of scheduled runs in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor AWS environments and batch schedules; rapidly triage and resolve incidents and job failures including reruns and recoveries
  • Coordinate with engineering and dependent teams to restore service during complex incidents with clear, structured communication
  • Support deployment activities including pre/post-implementation checks and rollback execution
  • Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and escalation paths
  • Ensure critical batch jobs complete within agreed SLA cutoffs and incident response targets are met
  • Drive RCA and implement preventive actions to reduce repeat incidents
Required Skills
  • AWS Platform Support: EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC networking - hands-on production experience
  • Batch Scheduling & Job Management: job dependencies, sequencing, retry logic, cutoff management, failure handling
  • SQL: ability to write and execute queries for operational validation and troubleshooting
  • Python and automation scripting experience
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with enterprise-scale production environments in financial services or similar regulated industries
  • Strong incident communication and documentation skills
Location & Work Model
Jersey City, NJ - fully onsite, 5 days per week. Day 1 onsite availability required.
