Position Title: Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Location: Clinton IL 61727
Duration: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Primarily Days | Rotating Weekends | Occasional On-Call (5*8)
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform a variety of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological laboratory tests following established laboratory procedures.
- Analyze and report accurate laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform proficient phlebotomy for patients of all age groups.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Operate laboratory equipment and maintain accurate documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage and occasional on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related biological science.
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification.
- ASCP certification required.
- Phlebotomy experience is required.
- Experience performing chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and other routine laboratory testing.
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred.
- Strong computer, mathematical, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely perform the physical demands of the role.
