Job SummaryOperates and programs the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for inspection of product. Gathers, analyzes, and reports custom written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, and quality. Performs all dimensional layouts using coordinate measuring equipment and prepares layout reports. Impact of the RoleGeneral Profile

Essential Functions
  • Creates inspection programs for the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports custom written programs to generate inspection data for manufacturing, engineering, and quality.
  • Interprets blueprints and analyzes the measurements that the machine outputs.
  • May lead CMM training with other technicians or operators.
  • Troubleshoots, fixes and reports non-conforming materials as needed.ย 
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Machine Programming. Manufacturing Quality Inspection. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams.
Physical Requirementsย 

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.ย ย ย ย 

May need to stand for long periods of time.

Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
