Summary:
โ€ข Lead site quality management for hydroelectric construction, installation, testing, commissioning, customer acceptance, and project closeout activities.
โ€ข Ensure quality requirements are implemented and verified at site to support safe, compliant, and reliable project execution.
โ€ข Serve as the primary quality interface between Voith site teams, Project Quality, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Quality, subcontractors, vendors, customer inspectors, and site stakeholders.
โ€ข Manage site quality documentation, customer submittals, NCRs, corrective actions, inspection readiness, customer witness inspections, quality records, turnover packages, and final acceptance support.
โ€ข Promote prevention-based quality by building quality requirements, inspection expectations, acceptance criteria, environmental compliance needs, and lessons learned into site execution processes.
โ€ข Support compliance with quality, environmental, health, safety, contractual, regulatory, statutory, and Voith Business Management System requirements.
Responsibilities:
Site quality leadership and planning
โ€ข Lead and coordinate site quality activities during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, customer handover, project closure, and turnover.
โ€ข Develop, review, maintain, and execute site-specific Quality Plans, Construction & Commissioning Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, quality schedules, and related documentation requirements.
โ€ข Ensure customer, contractual, regulatory, statutory, environmental, and Voith quality requirements are understood, deployed, monitored, and verified during site work.
โ€ข Coordinate with Project Quality Managers, site leadership, Field Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Quality, HSE, subcontractors, vendors, and customer representatives to align quality expectations.
โ€ข Support site kick-off meetings, handover to site teams, handover to commissioning teams, project coordination meetings, site status reviews, customer audit/inspection meetings, and final handover meetings.
Customer submittals, quality records, and turnover documentation
โ€ข Manage site quality documentation and ensure inspection records, test reports, field quality records, commissioning records, SAT records, PAC/FAC support records, and turnover deliverables are complete, accurate, traceable, and contract compliant.
โ€ข Prepare, review, compile, and submit contract-required documents to the customer, including site quality dockets, quality data books, quality dossiers, inspection reports, test records, NCR documentation, redline support documents, and closeout packages.
โ€ข Track document status, customer comments, open actions, revise-and-resubmit items, and approval status through closure.
โ€ข Coordinate with Document Control and project stakeholders to ensure required site quality records are available for internal review, customer review, acceptance, and archive.
NCR, corrective action, and risk management
โ€ข Initiate, investigate, manage, and close construction and commissioning NCRs, quality findings, deviations, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
โ€ข Ensure NCRs are clearly described, supported by objective evidence, properly assigned, dispositioned, approved when required, and followed through to effective closure.
โ€ข Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities with site teams, vendors, subcontractors, Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Quality, customers, and suppliers.
โ€ข Monitor site quality risks, NCR trends, overdue actions, recurring issues, and field quality performance; escalate critical issues affecting customer acceptance, schedule, safety, environmental compliance, or project cost.
โ€ข Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement actions to reduce rework, prevent recurrence, and strengthen future site execution.
Construction and commissioning inspection management
โ€ข Execute and manage C&C ITPs and verify that planned inspections, tests, audits, quality checks, witness points, hold points, and acceptance criteria are completed in accordance with project requirements.
โ€ข Coordinate internal and external inspection resources for mechanical, electrical, dimensional, welding, coating, NDE, calibration, commissioning, and functional testing activities where applicable.
โ€ข Plan, coordinate, and support customer witness inspections, site inspections, audits, surveillance activities, and quality reviews, including readiness checks, agendas, required resources, acceptance criteria, equipment, calibration status, and supporting records.
โ€ข Verify that inspection documentation is reviewed before physical inspection when required so inspection focus can be adjusted based on documentation findings.
โ€ข Ensure nonconforming work is not built upon, concealed, released, or handed over until appropriately reviewed, dispositioned, corrected, accepted, or formally transferred.
Vendor, subcontractor, and site supplier quality oversight
โ€ข Ensure Voith employees, vendors, subcontractors, and site suppliers uphold applicable quality requirements, site procedures, customer specifications, and accepted work practices.
โ€ข Monitor vendor and subcontractor quality performance at site and coordinate resolution of supplier or subcontractor quality issues affecting construction, commissioning, customer acceptance, or turnover.
โ€ข Support supplier/subcontractor surveillance, audits, inspection planning, documentation review, and corrective action follow-up when site scope or customer requirements require.
โ€ข Coordinate with Supply Chain Quality and Manufacturing Quality when supplier or manufacturing documentation, NCRs, inspection records, shipment release records, or final quality records affect site acceptance.
Requirements:
Education and experience
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
โ€ข Experience in construction quality, commissioning quality, field service quality, project quality, manufacturing quality, supplier quality, site management, or a comparable technical quality role.
โ€ข Experience supporting hydroelectric, power generation, heavy industrial, engineer-to-order, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, or large project-based environments preferred.
โ€ข Demonstrated experience working directly with customers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, project managers, and cross-functional technical stakeholders.
Quality systems, technical knowledge, and compliance
โ€ข Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 principles; familiarity with ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety principles preferred.
โ€ข Experience with NCR management, root cause analysis, corrective action, preventive action, effectiveness verification, audit findings, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.
โ€ข Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans, quality plans, customer witness/hold points, site quality records, commissioning records, test reports, quality dockets, data books, and customer turnover documentation.
โ€ข Ability to interpret customer specifications, contracts, drawings, procedures, inspection results, acceptance criteria, statutory/regulatory requirements, and environmental compliance expectations.
โ€ข Experience with dimensional inspection, mechanical inspection, electrical testing, NDE, welding, coating, calibration, site installation, commissioning, and/or functional testing is preferred.
