JOB TITLE: Receiving Quality Inspector
LOCATION: Rockville, MD
PAY RATE: $36.88/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

Summary: 

  • Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformance to specifications including bare boards, COTS items, and items fabricated to in-house drawings.

  • Examines electronic components for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit.

  • Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications.

  • Identifies, labels, and documents defective, damaged, or non-conforming materials.

  • Provides direct Quality Assurance ownership and oversight of Receiving Inspection labs.

  • Participates in regular MRBs (Material Review Board) to ensure nonconforming material and process are appropriately handled.

  • Uses precision measurement equipment including calipers and micrometers for inspection.

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints.

  • Uses ERP and MRP systems for receiving inspection documentation and record keeping.

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a Receiving Inspection environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints.

  • Good understanding of AS9100 standard and support with internal and external audits as required.

  • Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment including calipers and micrometers.

  • High level of accuracy in identifying defects and maintaining records.

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.

  • Experience with aerospace, NASA, or FAA programs is desired.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
