Job Description

Primary Function:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Director to join our team. The quality assurance director will provide leadership and oversight of the company’s Quality Assurance Program and Quality Management System. The Quality Assurance Director plays a key role in upholding product quality and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing processes. This position supports project teams and customers to ensure the project meets quality standards, project requirements, and technical specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute internal and external audits, surveillances, and gap analyses to verify regulatory compliance.
  • Establish, update, and maintain the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual and procedures aligned with ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
  • Lead root cause analyses and manage corrective and nonconformance processes.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, commercial-grade dedications, and vendor audits.
  • Provide oversight of quality control and inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Deep familiarity with ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, 10 CFR 71 Sub-Part H, 10 CFR 72 Subpart G, 10 CFR 830, and DOE/NRC Guidelines.
  • Provide oversight of supplier quality and procurement quality requirements.
  • Manage the QA team, including hiring, training, supervising, and motivating staff to achieve quality objectives.
  • Establish a culture of quality ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Promote and actively embrace the concept of a collaborative environment, with an emphasis on customer service, respect, and candor. Safety is a cultural value, and it must be promoted and enforced at all times.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working under NQA-1, ISO, and/or DOE Order 414.1D quality programs.
  • Experience with ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3
  • Experience with ASME Section III and/or ASME Section VIII quality programs
  • Experience with AISC quality program.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from a four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is combination of shop and office setting. The employee will frequently find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
