Job description

CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced IT Network Engineer III for a W2 contract assignment supporting enterprise-scale networking, automation, and infrastructure transformation initiatives.

Type: Contract
Job Title: IT Network Engineer III
Location: Hybrid (preferred) – 1 day/week onsite; preference given to candidates within 1 hour of Charlotte, NC or Corning, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline required

Travel: Potential travel of up to 30% (domestic); during critical projects, travel requirements may increase

Key Highlights

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and optimize enterprise network architectures across campus, data center, and hybrid environments
  • Engineer and support routing and switching infrastructure using BGP, OSPF, Arista, and Cisco platforms
  • Architect and manage enterprise wireless solutions, with emphasis on MIST wireless environments
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and network automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and APIs
  • Support SD-WAN and hybrid cloud connectivity initiatives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (security, cloud, infrastructure, OT/manufacturing)
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support critical incidents
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
  • Strong expertise in BGP, OSPF, routing, and switching technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Arista (including CloudVision) and Cisco environments
  • Experience with enterprise wireless networks (MIST preferred)
  • Strong background in network automation (Ansible, Python, Terraform, REST APIs)
  • Deep understanding of LAN, SD-WAN, and hybrid network architectures
  • Experience supporting large-scale, global enterprise environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP, Arista ACE L5, or equivalent certifications
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking
  • Manufacturing or OT network environment experience
  • Experience with vendor management, budgeting, or cost analysis
