This role is based on-site at the Demonware Vancouver office, following the team's hybrid schedule (4 days per week in the office). A relocation package may be available depending on eligibility.

About Demonware

Demonware is a member of the Activision family of studios, partnering with engineers and creatives across AAA game studios to deliver the online and data services that power some of the world's biggest franchises - including Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot.

We're a technology company that values openness and collaboration. We believe the best ideas win, everyone should feel empowered to contribute, and while we take our work seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously.

At Demonware, you'll find big-company challenges with a small-company culture. We support millions of concurrent users and work with technologies such as Python, C++, Java, Linux, MySQL, Erlang, and Kubernetes. Our co-op students make real contributions - many see their code running in production within days of joining.

Co-op Program Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program

  • Expected graduation between December 2027 - June 2029

  • Available for a 7-month, in-person co-op starting January 2027

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Resume and transcript required

  • As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to complete an automated coding assessment

We're looking for a Data Analyst to partner closely with our Product team to drive data-informed decision-making. You'll play a critical role in uncovering insights, measuring product performance, and helping shape the product roadmap. Think of yourself as the go-to person for turning raw data into actionable insights that fuel product innovation.

The Role

  • Analyze and interpret data from a variety of systems, including but not limited to fraud analysis, disruptive behavior, and prosocial behavior in gaming communities.

  • Build, maintain, and improve dashboards and reports that inform decision-making and strategy.

  • Identify and interpret trends and anomalies in the data and offer opinions in support of product strategy.

  • Filter, clean, and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting and analysis.

  • Present data findings and recommendations regularly to the Product team and other stakeholders.

  • Proactively surface insights and recommendations to improve player experience, reduce fraud, and foster positive behavior in gaming communities.

  • Collaborate regularly with Activision data science/machine learning teams and game studios.

  • This role is part of the Demonware product team and as a result will require an inquisitive mind that cares about the "why" behind the data.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams across Activision.

  • Passionate about data and applying an analytical mindset to inform product decisions.

  • Ability to conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and provide insights into key metrics.

  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and actionable way.

  • The ability to work well, both autonomously, as part of a larger team, and asynchronously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tableau.

  • Experience with proposing and running experiments.

  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning techniques for data analysis and data science modeling.

  • Understanding of REST.

  • Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark.

  • Experience in using project management tools.

How to Stand Out

We encourage you to highlight:

  • Specific contributions on previous work/projects

  • Any Linux experience (school, personal, or home projects)

  • Programming-related hobbies or personal projects

  • Notable school assignments

  • Open-source contributions

  • Links to code repositories, portfolios, or technical blogs

Office Perks

  • Complimentary breakfast, lunch, and drinks from a fully stocked kitchen

  • BBQs and Lunch & Learns

  • City-center office location

  • Vacation allowance

  • Competitive pay

  • Free games
