Job description

Job Title: Pump Mechanic

Job Description

This position is for a Pump Mechanic who will be responsible for working with all types of industrial rotating equipment, primarily pumps. The role involves receiving, disassembling, diagnosing necessary repairs, performing inspections, and reassembling the equipment to ensure quality and functionality. The equipment varies in size, from handheld to large pumps, with some weighing around 1,000 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, disassemble, inspect, document, diagnose, repair, and reassemble large industrial rotating equipment used in various industrial environments.
  • Utilize hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, air guns, micrometers, and veneer calipers.
  • Apply manual machining skills using manual lathes and mills.
  • Perform welding as needed for certain repairs.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Technician, preferably in pump repair.
  • Proficiency with hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, air guns, micrometers, and veneer calipers.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and interpret English for understanding instructions and recording inspection reports.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ownership of personal tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with manual machining and welding is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.
