Job description

RN – 12 hr day shift-Tucson, AZ

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term contract opportunity at the Arizona State Veteran Home in Tucson, AZ. This role is ideal for nurses with strong geriatric, long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment serving Veterans.

Schedule
  • 12-hour DAY shifts: 6:00am – 6:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered within RN scope of practice

  • Complete nursing assessments and assist with MDS care planning

  • Monitor residents’ medical, physical, and psychological conditions

  • Participate in shift reports and interdisciplinary communication

  • Supervise and support CNAs and licensed staff when acting as Charge RN

  • Assist residents with ADLs when necessary

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and nursing records

  • Participate in staff development and in-service training programs

  • Utilize Arizona Management System (AMS) concepts for process improvement and problem-solving

Requirements

✔ Active RN License
✔ Weekend availability required
✔ CPR/BLS Certification

  • Geriatric nursing

  • Skilled nursing/LTC

  • Rehab or post-acute care

  • Charge nurse experience

  • Experience with MDS and care plans

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
