Medical Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Med/Psych RN)
Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago is seeking a compassionate Medical Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Med/Psych RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with both medical and behavioral health needs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, treat, and monitor patients while promoting safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and clinical judgment.
• Assess, monitor, and care for patients with medical and psychiatric conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments, including psychotropic medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond to behavioral health crises and promote a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Qualifications
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of combined Medical-Surgical and Behavioral Health nursing experience.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and behavioral health care.
• PMH-BC certification preferred.
