Job description


The Project Controls Analyst will be responsible for the planning and performance monitoring of assigned
projects, including providing guidance to operational managers through the implementation of project controls processes, procedures, and contracts. The incumbent will track performance daily, weekly, and monthly, and incorporate quantitative and qualitative analysis, to define both the physical and the economic performance of the projects and recommend action to be taken should deviations from the optimal performance be highlighted.
The incumbent will work to ensure that the business objectives of Redpath USA Corporation are consistently
achieved by developing, implementing, and maintaining the project baseline and project execution plans and
estimates, inclusive of setting up all project administrative aspects.
Responsibilities
1. Compile and define the controls baselines for projects, including the development of project execution
plans and project controls procedures.
2. Administrative set up of new projects, including timekeeping, reporting, chart of accounts and document
management.
3. Ensure that the Management of Change process is being maintained and integrated with Redpath's
policies, procedures, contracts, and financial systems.
4. Participate in compiling, updating, and tracking project costs and schedules (InEight [HD], Primavera
and/or MS Projects, SharePoint, and JD Edwards).
5. Implement proper controls to monitor project budget performance, re-allocation of costs and to ensure
that monthly costs, cash, and resource requirements are forecasted to project completion.
6. Implement and maintain earned value management on assigned projects.
7. Report on project key performance indicators, daily, weekly and monthly.
8. Monitor trends to identify issues potentially impacting on policies, procedures, schedule, costs, project
scope, risks and/or safety related issues.
9. Prepare and finalize the close-out reports.
10. If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements
to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver's License and
acceptable driving record.
11. Responsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
12. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe
and efficient manner.
13. Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
14. Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
15. Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath's Policies and Procedures as detailed in the
appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
16. Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift
rotations.
17. Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.

Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications
Education:
1. Required: Bachelor degree in a related scientific, business or engineering field.
a. Preferred concentration in (business or engineering) in quantity surveying, cost estimating or mining. Additional qualifications and/or certification(s) in project management, contract administration and key performance indicator measurement will be considered an asset.
Work Experience:
1. 5 + years of field and/or office-based project accounting, estimating or controls experience related to
underground construction projects or operational mining environment, with knowledge of project
management, construction contracts, reporting and data manipulation.
Knowledge Required:
1. Good understanding of general business interfaces and/or processes as they related to human resources,
procurement, engineering, construction operations, accounting, and administration departments.
2. Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office, scheduling Software (MS Projects or
Primavera) and measurement and estimating software.
3. Good conceptual skills in understanding relationships between projects, the overall organization and its
environment, and how change in one part of the project affects the whole project.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to facilitate team commitment.
