Responsibilities

Role Overview:We are seeking a Bridge Engineer / Project Manager to lead and deliver bridge and civil structure projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors and the City of Calgary. You will lead multidiscipline design teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and provide technical leadership from planning and preliminary design through detailed design, procurement, and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and provide technical expertise on bridges and civil structure projects for Provincial and Major Urban clients, including Alberta Transportation and the City of Calgary.
  • Lead structural analysis, design, evaluation, and preparation of calculations, drawings, technical reports, and contract documents.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules; monitor, control, and report project status internally and externally; ensure quality control of deliverables.
  • Prepare proposals and support business development with key public-sector clients.
  • Coordinate across disciplines (highway, foundation/geotechnical, environmental, drainage, electrical) and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Oversee construction contract preparation and administration; provide construction liaison, site inspections, and contract administration as needed.
  • Mentor and guide junior and intermediate staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; graduate degree in Structural Engineering or Project Management is an asset.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
Experience
  • Progressive experience in bridge engineering and project management within the transportation market, including direct experience delivering projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors and the City of Calgary.
  • Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation design guidelines and construction specifications; indepth knowledge of AT standards and policies and the Highway Bridge Design Code (CSAS6).
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to effectively manage budget and schedule delivery; superior planning and organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in the design and rehabilitation/construction of bridges; ability to review and sign off technical design reports.
  • Committed team player and highly selfmotivated; occasional travel required; valid driver's license.
