Accountabilities in this role
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Capital Contracting, this position supports the Capital Contract Lifecycle aspects of BD's Medication Management Solutions (MMS) for specific regions of US business for Infusion-Alaris. This role will also assist with the Contracting capability within the CCO. This will be successfully accomplished by following documented contract development and associated policies, ensuring that the US Commercial Operations strategy is implemented. Working in partnership within the Commercial Ops team and with other MMS Selling Organization and commercial customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate contracting lifecycle activities within specific regions including contract negotiation to signature including components such as software specification, maintenance and service, installation and invoicing/reconciliation of capital products.
  • Accountable for negotiating MMS Infusion sales and service contract terms and conditions.
  • Review and revise customer redlines and contract templates and provide responses for issues consistent with BD policies, business positions, statutory/legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Adhere to a defined contract review/approval workflow process within the regional contracting team, ensuring appropriate process is followed and implemented, liaising with Business/Legal as needed.
  • Act as a negotiator directly with customers when negotiating standard contract terms, work directly with Legal, Global Customer Service, Marketing, and other SMEs to balance customer requirements while protecting BD's interests and mitigating risk.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team and supporting the regional MMS sales contracts lifecycle including provision of lead information (from internal data), quote generation, drafting/redlining, negotiation, execution, amendments, and extensions.
  • Review deal profitability and adherence to set pricing strategies and handle approvals based on set decision rights matrix.
  • Assist and coordinate to resolve post-deal contract lifecycle issues, including analyzing and reporting of contract obligations, billing/revenue issues, and addressing inquiries from sales/customers, etc.
  • Ensure that risk is mitigated, and regulations are appropriately addressed consistently across all business offerings.
  • Understands financial drivers of specific deals and can communicate how to best structure a deal to meet customer needs while strengthening the profitability for the company.
  • Support and participate on process improvement projects (templates, standard terms, system updates, etc.) to drive operational efficiencies and standardization throughout the organization.
  • Be accountable for goals and KPIs (e.g., contract cycle time).
  • Be Inspired and empowered to act with speed, agility and accountability enabling
  • achievement of excellence.
  • Personal courage - Strong ethical values; takes appropriate action and makes decisions maintaining responsibility for outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree and 1 year of experience or High School diploma and 5 years of experience in a contracts or similar role required.
  • 1 year demonstrated experience as part of a Contracting team, strong understanding of business strategy, pricing and profitability thresholds, and strong relationships with Legal counsel, General Management, Finance, Regulatory, Compliance, Risk Management and Sales Executive Leadership preferred.
  • Strategic and analytical problem solver with business acumen. Able to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization.
  • Ability to communicate at al levels
  • Self-starter, minimal supervision in performing assigned tasks.
