Job Summary:
Crossfire Consulting is seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join their contract IT team. The role involves maintaining, securing, and optimizing Windows-based infrastructure and supporting critical SQL systems for business operations.
Responsibilities:
• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement, support and maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and scripts for system automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with customers, adjacent technical teams and all level of management to address systems issues.
• Maintain security best practices, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5–7 years of experience in Windows system administration in mid to large-scale environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• High level of familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix).
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes is a plus.
