Position Overview:
As our Design Draftsperson, 1-year contract you will work closely with Project and Manufacturing Engineering to develop and maintain designs, CAD models, sketches, and detailed drawings. You will coordinate drawing structures and material requisitions, support project timelines, and communicate progress, priorities, and quality improvements to senior drafting and engineering stakeholders.

Your Day to Day as our Design Draftsperson, 1-year contract:     

  • Responsible for Graphics department deliverables for the assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for Requisition and Structures entry into SAP under Project and/or Manufacturing Engineering direction.
  • Prepares with minimum supervision:
    โ€ข Complex arrangements, complete layouts with relationship to form, fit and function
    โ€ข Detailed drawings or sketches of complex design โ€ข Check work of other Design Drafters of equal or lower classification
    โ€ข Assist or direct other design drafters as instructed
    โ€ข Liaison with other departments, customers, vendors and sales office as instructed
    โ€ข May perform work for higher classification
    โ€ข Assist in developing drafting standards and CAD enhancement tools
    โ€ข May perform the duties of Design Drafters in lower classification
    โ€ข Perform related office duties as required
  • Other:
    โ€ข Create complex solid models.
    โ€ข Create complex proposal models, drawings or sketches. โ€ข May be required to assist other departments within the company on the instructions of the Lead Designer.

Required Qualifications:

  • Some experience and knowledge required, 3 or more years of experience in a similar position.
  • Displays technical competence, must understand the objectives of professional staff but requires direction from engineers.
  • Requires accreditation from a technical school, Engineering Technologist, or equivalent.
  • Intermediate training and/or knowledge in drafting methods and GD&T.
  • Experience with 3D parametric CAD software and 2D drafting standards.

Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
