Job description

About the role:
If this sounds like an environment you would excel in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer in our Risk Analysis team. This is a US-based remote opportunity.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Risk Analysis and this will be a remote based role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems; evaluating a plant's potential vulnerability to all risk and hazard types (i.e., seismic, fire, flooding, etc.). Assessments may support both domestic and international operating plants, as well as new reactors still in the design phase.
  • Lead global project teams by contributing to technical scope execution in various roles (author, mentor, verifier), as well as meeting schedule and financial objectives.
  • Present technical topics and interface with global customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Support and identify strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and pursue target product markets.
  • Mentor early-career engineers and lead initiatives for knowledge management and retention.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 10+ years professional experience with minimum 7 years of experience with PRA Model development applied to nuclear plants.
  • Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer license considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of PWR reactor operations.
  • In addition to basic Risk and Hazard skills, you should have a knowledge of:โ€ข
    • Internal/External Hazards PRAs
    • Level 2 PRAs
    • Human Reliability Analysis (HRA)
    • Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
  • Proficiency with PRA software (CAFTA, RiskSpectrum)
  • Peer Review experience preferred.
