Overview


Our Primary Care team is seeking a Registered Nurse for a fulltime, 18month maternity leave contract. This position is a communitybased nursing role involving travel to clients' homes. The Registered Nurse will provide care in home and community settings as part of an interprofessional primary care team that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, and allied health professionals.


This role requires a valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable, personally owned vehicle to support travel between client locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner;
  • Perform routine procedures, such as administering medications, immunizations, allergy shots, ear irrigation, dressing changes, and specimen collection;
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans;
  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in electronic medical records;
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies

Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a community or primary health care setting;
  • Experience using a medical software program, preferably PSS, is an asset;
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations such as newcomers and refugees;
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team;
  • Fluency in English and French preferred; other languages are assets;
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and electronic medical records;
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary: $39.72 - $46.73 per hour (commensurate with experience).
