Okaloosa Youth Academy is a non-secure, certified juvenile justice residential facility for males located in Crestview, FL. The mission of Okaloosa Youth Academy is to increase public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency in Florida through effective prevention, intervention and treatment services that strengthen families and turn around the lives of troubled youth. Okaloosa employs dedicated professionals whose goals are to help youth develop competencies valued by the community through therapeutic and educational programming in a secure, structured environment and to promote successful transition into the community.

We are currently seeking PRN Registered Nurses for our Crestview, FL location; flexible day time schedules available! The nurses at OYA provide medical management and assessment of our patients. OYA is a facility focused on Service Excellence evidenced by a facility wide team work mentality. It is a great location for nurses with a strong skill set who has the ability to work independently, but also looking for a slower work pace. Tasks include med pass, admissions, rounds with the primary MD, twice monthly rounds with psychiatrist, blood draws, and other basic nursing duties. These are 12-hours shifts, candidate must be willing to work two days per week and one weekend a month. Competitive pay.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility and/or adolescent health care setting preferred.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as a Florida RN. Able to pass a level 2 DJJ background screen.
