Power Platform Developer (Power Apps / Power Automate) – Public Safety

Position Type: 1-Year Contract (Through August 2027)

Pay Rate: $45.00 – $52.00 / hr W2 (Dependent on experience)

Location: 100% Onsite – Phoenix, AZ (150 S 12th Street)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Plus On-Call Rotation)

Target Start Date: ~August 31, 2026

About the Role

SunSoftOnline is seeking an IT Analyst/Programmer to support the Phoenix Fire Department’s Technical Services Section. In this role, you will develop and maintain mission-critical software applications and process automation workflows that support first responders and public safety operations across the City of Phoenix.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application & Automation Development: Build and maintain workflows using Power Automate and applications/interfaces using Power Apps and Power Pages.

  • Data Integration & Database Work: Connect and manage Power Platform data integrations with SQL Server, SharePoint, and APIs. Write T-SQL for data extraction and create reports using SSRS.

  • Scripting & System Maintenance: Utilize PowerShell or Python for ETL scripting. Schedule automated jobs for user reporting and maintain system interfaces for data transmission to state and federal agencies.

  • Support & Compliance: Perform daily system checks, resolve trouble tickets, manage application security/environment compliance, and train end-users.

  • Business Analysis: Work directly with Fire Department stakeholders across all technical levels to document support procedures and business processes.

  • On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation (which may include nights, weekends, and holidays) to respond to immediate-action incidents on mission-critical public safety systems.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years developing in Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.

  • 2+ years of Business Analysis and technical documentation experience.

  • 2+ years supporting cloud-based applications.

  • 1+ year working with MSSQL databases (T-SQL, SSRS).

  • Experience with PowerShell or Python for ETL scripting.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders.
