Job description

The Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to deliver highquality, standardscompliant solutions for our clients.

This position is responsible for leading and supporting the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems and components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and applicable codes. The role includes preparing and maintaining detailed electrical drawings and schematics, assisting with system design and analysis, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders. The engineer will also ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and support engineers and technologists in the design and development of electrical systems
  • Perform calculations and analysis related to load, sizing, and system performance
  • Prepare, modify, and review electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including revisions, as-built drawings, and technical records
  • Support procurement by preparing bills of materials and reviewing vendor drawings and submittals
  • Assist technical team in-house or in the field for maintenance and commissioning projects
  • Manage product drawing review and approval process
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with the teams
  • Prepare contracts and purchase agreements with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Provide leadership for assigned projects regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety, and performance
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders, and suppliers/vendors
  • Ensure drawings and design comply with applicable codes and standards, CEC, IEEE, CSA
  • Contribute to business development activities as well as promote the development of new and unique business opportunities including maintaining business relationships
  • Adherent to and implementation of quality control programs
  • Adhere to and promote safe work practices, health, safety, and environment policies and programs

Education and Skill Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Licensed Professional Engineer in New Brunswick
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology within industrial, commercial, or utility environments including protection and control
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Works or similar) for electrical drawings and schematics
