Job description

StraitSys Inc Regular Primary Function StraitSys is seeking a skilled Database Developer who will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and security of databases across multiple networks. Ensures databases are functioning efficiently while maintaining accurate, accessible, and secure data. Works closely with the System Architect/Engineer and/or Technical Subject Matter Expert to design, implement, modify, and maintain database infrastructure to meet databasing needs. This role will also be responsible for creating and modifying Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines in support of software development, data modeling and schema design. Essential Duties * Experience as a database administrator responsible for the deployment and management of efficient database operations and processes. Responsible for performing database administration tasks, backups, and recoveries. Comfortable working with users to resolve database questions or issues
* Extensive experience with SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS) like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
* Proficiency in data modeling, normalization, schema design, and creating stored procedures, views, and triggers
* Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools to move and cleanse data
* Ability to analyze execution plans, optimize complex queries, and manage indexing strategies for high-volume transactions Supervisory Responsibilities None Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Experience in full stack development utilizing tools such as .NET, Visual Studio 2019, Bootstrap utilizing common development languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript
* Experience working within and interacting with AWS Cloud Infrastructures Required Qualifications * Active Top Secret Clearance
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline. Education substitution requires 5+ years' experience as a database administrator responsible for large networks with multiple and complex databases with 500+ users
* Must have strong technical skills in database design, management, and security, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with other IT staff and stakeholders
