Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
  • To assistPlant Operations Director and department staff in any project that may berequired.
  • Performs and completes assigned Scheduled Maintenance Work Orders,Routine and Emergency Work Orders in allotted and timely manner.
  • Under generaldirection, to perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenanceand repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power,water, water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a Hospital;may instruct or lead other Technicians; may instruct or lead contract workers;and do other related work.
  • Provides Security related duties M-F during daylighthours.
  • Maintains cooperative work relationship with others. Assist in the rotation and respond to emergency repairs. Comply will all Hospitaltraining and safety requirements.
  • Knowledge on how to scrape, sand and fillsurfaces in preparation for painting and finishing; apply undercoats and finishcoats with brush or by spray machines; paper hang; and match paints andfinishes; clean and maintain brushes and other equipment; paint simple designs;estimate the cost of painting jobs; advise in the selection, ordering, andstoring of painting materials; consult with other tradespeople; keep simplerecords and make reports; instruct and lead unskilled assistants.
  • The Painter mayprepare lists of materials and supplies; estimate job costs; lay out a job; anddirect the work of three or more helpers or craftspeople exercising onlylimited supervisory responsibility

WORK HOURS:  Full Time,M-F to include various on call hours.

JOB RELATIONSHIP: 

  • WORKERSSUPERVISED:  None
  • SUPERVISEDBY:  Director of Plant Operations and/or Plant Ops Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION
  •     High School Graduate or GED equivalent   
  • Training in de-escalation techniquessuch as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); must be able to register withinone year of accepting position.


  •   LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
  • An Operating Engineer license ispreferred
  • An EPA Section 608 RefrigerationCertificate is preferred\

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist Plant Operations Director anddepartment staff in any project that may be required.
