Contract pipe welders are hired for specific jobs and are often responsible for interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and ensuring the welds meet industry standards. This work can take place in various environments, including industrial sites, pipelines, and shipyards. Contract welders often need certifications and experience with different welding techniques, such as TIG, MIG, or stick welding. The job may also require traveling to different job sites and adhering to strict safety regulations.
