Job description

Elite Construction is seeking a Residential/ Commercial Electrician HELPER to assist with our many commercial/residential projects in the Valdosta/ Thomasville/ Tifton area.

Must have a driver's license and a car (no exceptions). Hard working and dependable need only apply!!

An electrician helper supports licensed electricians by performing basic, less-skilled duties to ensure a safe and organized work environment. This is an entry-level position that provides hands-on experience and a steppingstone to a formal apprenticeship or a full electrician career.

The primary duties of an electrician helper involve manual labor and supporting the main electrical work. Material Handling: Transporting tools, equipment, and supplies to the worksite, which can involve lifting heavy items. Site Preparation & Cleanup: Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe, including disposing of waste and sweeping the area. Basic Wire Work: Measuring, cutting, stripping insulation, and bending wire and conduit using various hand and power tools. Assisting with Installations: Helping to install electrical systems, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, outlets, and fans under direct supervision. Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and equipment. Troubleshooting Support: Tracing out short circuits or examining units for loose connections or broken insulation using a test meter and hand tools. Physical Labor: Tasks may include digging trenches for installations, drilling holes for wiring, and working from ladders or in cramped spaces.

Experience: Previous experience in the electrical or construction field is often preferred, but not always mandatory. Physical Stamina: The role involves physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. Skills: Familiarity with hand and power tools. Strong ability to follow directions and work well under supervision. Willingness to learn the trade and an interest in electrical systems. Basic problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are necessary no exceptions!

We are looking for a team player.

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Trouble-shoot all electric systems
  • Place and bend conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Practice and comprehend safe work procedures.
  • Run a commercial job site
  • Have knowledge of job site safety
  • Keep track of any work requested or completed beyond scope/contract and reporting it to supervisor before any extra work is performed
  • Strong communication skills and neat appearance
  • Must have a valid Driver's License

  • Must have reliable transportation
