Denver, Colorado | Full-Time Contract | Remote Position

We are seeking a Contract Specialist, who will be responsible for performing contract placement and administration duties in support of federal government contracting operations.

This role supports construction, Architect-Engineering (A/E), and building maintenance service contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and successful execution of high-value procurement actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs acquisition planning to determine appropriate contract types, procurement strategies, and socioeconomic set-asides aligned with regional goals
  • Conducts market research and manages procurement advertisements in federal systems (e.g., SAM/FedBizOpps)
  • Prepares solicitations, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and all required supporting documentation (e.g., J&As, D&Fs)
  • Receives, evaluates, and documents offers, including cost/price analysis and negotiation support
  • Prepares contract awards, purchase orders, and delivery orders for Contracting Officer signature
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for contractors and manages day-to-day contract administration
  • Processes contract modifications, including proposal review, negotiation support, and documentation preparation
  • Maintains contract files and prepares official correspondence related to contract execution
  • Reviews and processes contractor invoices, resolves payment issues, and tracks funding
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws, including reviewing payrolls and conducting labor interviews
  • Analyzes contract performance issues and provides recommendations to the Contracting Officer
  • Performs contract closeout activities and prepares files for record retention
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business administration
  • Minimum of 8 yearsโ€™ experience in a government contracting environment
  • Experience performing contract placement and administration for both simplified acquisitions and formal contracts
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, and General Service Administration (GSA) regulations
  • Experience supporting high-value, complex procurement actions requiring innovative contracting methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Secret / Top Secret / Public Trust)
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation and PIV card issuance

Preferred

  • Experience supporting GSA or similar federal agency contracts
  • Familiarity with construction and A/E contracting environments
  • Advanced certifications in federal contracting (e.g., DAWIA, FAC-C)
Security Clearance Requirement
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Secret / Top Secret / Public Trust)
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation and PIV card issuance
