Job description

We are currently seeking a Nuclear Licensing Engineer to support various projects out of Aiken, SC.

  • Develop and review licensing documents to include developing licensing content to support licensing applications, portions of Safety Analysis Reports, certifications, permits, approvals, regulatory reports, and license renewal applications depending upon customer's needs.

  • Coordinate with Engineering teams to support the development and submittal of licensing documentations. Collaboration is required to ensure federal, state, and local requirements are being met either through design or safety analysis. Ensure design will comply with regulations and guidance.

  • Monitor changes to nuclear regulations and assess their impact on operations and licensing.

  • Teach and mentor more junior team members.

  • Participate in assessments, audits, and inspections as either an assessor or supporting the company being assessed.

  • Maintain records and documentation in accordance with Amentum's Quality Assurance policy.

  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and 4 years of relevant work experience

  • MS/MA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and 2 years of relevant work experience

  • Working knowledge of 10 CFR50 or 10 CRF70 and other regulations and guidance

  • Ability to support remote work with a high degree of integrity and dedication

  • Good communication and analytical skills; knowledgeable about Microsoft Office applications.

  • The Engineer must have demonstrated experience in preparing licensing documents to support regulatory compliance for nuclear facilities

  • The position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a US Citizen; dual Citizenship is not permitted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with nuclear facility operations and safety analyses.

  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies.

  • Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards

  • Developing and maintaining effective collaboration with design engineers, nuclear safety engineers, operations personnel, supporting organization, subcontractor personnel, and NRC oversight personnel.

  • Providing support and input, including requirements management, to identify and implement improvements to current procedures and processes, performing programmatic assessments, and conducting training, as required.

  • Frequently working with other organizations, tracking, and reporting status, and ensuring projects meet schedule commitments.

Compensation Details:

$110,00+
