This role is central to ensuring young people gain essential knowledge, confidence, and skills to make informed financial decisions. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:Facilitate financial literacy programming aligned to FLY's curriculumCustomize lessons to meet student needs while maintaining fidelity to learning objectivesEnsure inclusive and interactive classroom environments that support diverse learnersClassroom & Site Engagement:Collaborate with site personnel to support student participation and program logisticsMaintain classroom management and instructional pacing aligned to the program scheduleTrack attendance, participation, and student progressData & Reporting:Complete session summaries and student engagement logsSupport pre/post assessments and share key learnings with the instructional teamProvide feedback for program improvement and curriculum developmentTeam Collaboration:Attend instructional team meetings and contribute to professional learning sessionsShare best practices and participate in ongoing trainingOther Duties and Contractual Details:Support outreach activities, special events, or public workshops as neededParticipate in curriculum reviews, feedback sessions, or pilot testing of new materialsRepresent FLY at community events, partner meetings, or professional development sessionsAssist in mentoring new educators and onboarding volunteersContribute to cross-functional projects that support organizational prioritiesPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programming and Operations or Executive LeadershipSupervisory Responsibilities:The Personal Finance Educator has no supervisory responsibilitiesQualifications:To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Youth Development, or a related field1–3 years of teaching, training, or youth facilitation experienceStrong content knowledge in personal finance or willingness to be trainedLanguage Skills:Effective communication and interpersonal skills with youth and adultsAbility to adapt to diverse environments and learning needsMathematical Skills:Basic financial literacy and numeracy skillsReasoning Ability:Ability to adapt curriculum to meet student needsStrong classroom management and problem-solving skillsComputer Skills:Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft OfficeCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:None required Intellectual Demands:Frequent problem solvingStrong written and verbal communicationHigh level of organization and interpersonal skillsAbility to concentrate and maintain focusCreativity in instructional deliveryFlexibility to work with interruptionsPhysical Demands:Ability to stand and walk for portions of the dayAbility to sit for extended periodsFrequent talking and listeningUse of hands for handling materials and technologyOccasional reaching with armsMay occasionally lift up to 10 poundsVision Requirements:Close and distance visionAbility to adjust focusPrimarily applied to use of computers and instructional materialsWork Environment:Little to no exposure to hazardous environmental conditionsOccasional travel required to school and community sites
