Job description

Company Description

Launch Your Accounting Career Behind Life-Saving Medical Devices

At Life Science Outsourcing (LSO), the numbers are never just numbers. As a medical device contract manufacturer operating under FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards, we depend on financial records that are accurate, timely, and audit-ready, because everything we build ends up in the hands of a patient. The Junior Accountant keeps the payables and receivables engine running so quality products ship on time and within budget.

If you are starting your accounting career and want a role where the details genuinely matter, where a mentor invests in your growth, and where you will learn modern AI and automation tools most entry-level jobs never touch, this role was built for you. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

We encourage you to submit a resume with salary requirements.

Job Description

What You'll Do

As a key member of our Finance team reporting to the Controller, you will own the day-to-day flow of accounts payable and accounts receivable, serving as a vital link between vendors, customers, and our operations floor.

Accounts Payable

  • Receive, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation so every payment goes out right the first time.
  • Record payments, prepare payment runs, and keep vendor accounts accurate and current.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally, resolving billing discrepancies at the source.

Accounts Receivable

  • Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule, keeping cash flowing into the business.
  • Apply incoming payments, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with collections follow-up.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and research payment discrepancies until the numbers tie out.

Reconciliation & Record-Keeping

  • Reconcile assigned accounts and play a hands-on role in the month-end close.
  • Maintain organized historical records, from check stubs to bank receipts, so answers are always a file away.
  • Support the team with data entry and routine accounting tasks that keep the books clean.

Compliance & Controls

  • Follow internal controls and company policies in every AP and AR activity.
  • Protect the organization by keeping financial information strictly confidential.
  • Support quarterly and year-end audits by providing requested documentation.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with purchasing, receiving, and operations to resolve invoice and payment questions.
  • Take on ad hoc projects and analyses that stretch your skills beyond the day-to-day.
Qualifications

What You Bring

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience. If you are a recent graduate seeking your first real accounting role, we want to hear from you.
  • Working understanding of basic accounting principles, including AP, AR, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, plus Word and Outlook.
  • Comfort learning an ERP or accounting system; Deacom experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Mindset & Impact

  • Detail-oriented to the core: a transposed digit bothers you until it is fixed.
  • Organized and steady when invoices stack up and deadlines compete.
  • Curious about AI and automation, and eager to apply modern tools that make routine AP and AR work faster and more accurate. Hands-on experience is a bonus; willingness to learn is what matters.
  • A team player who takes direction well, asks smart questions, and wants to grow with a team that will invest in you.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with vendor relations or customer billing.
  • Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Hands-on use of AI or automation tools to reduce repetitive data entry and manual processing.

Why Join LSO?

  • Do work you can point to: your accuracy directly supports life-saving medical devices reaching real patients.
  • Start on a genuine launch pad: this role was designed as the foundation for a career on our finance team, with mentorship directly from the Controller.
  • Build skills that compound: hands-on training in ERP systems plus AI and automation tools for modern accounting.
  • Gain regulated-industry experience inside an FDA registered, ISO 13485 certified manufacturer, a credential that travels well.
  • Join a PE-backed organization with the growth trajectory to expand your scope over time.

Work Environment

  • On-site, full-time at the Somersworth, NH facility.
  • Primarily a professional office environment within an FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 regulated contract manufacturing operation.
  • Requires the ability to sit and view a computer monitor for extended periods.
  • Involves moving between floors and departments, including walking up and down stairs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

Make an Impact

Every invoice you reconcile and every payment you record stands behind a medical device that a patient is waiting for. The Junior Accountant keeps LSO's financial foundation accurate and dependable, so the people building those devices never have to wonder whether the numbers are right. If you are ready to start an accounting career where your attention to detail has real consequences, and real rewards, LSO is ready for you.
