Job DescriptionGENERAL PURPOSE Serves as the Ski Patrol Director overseeing ski patrol operations at Howelsen Hill. Responsible for supervising ski patrollers, providing emergency medical services to skiing and riding guests including medical care, search and rescue, lift evacuation, identifying and marking hazardous ski conditions, and ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
SUPERVISION RECEIVEDWorks under the general supervision of the Howelsen Ski and Rodeo Complex Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDSupervises up to 15 full time, part time, and volunteer ski patrollers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESServes as a member of various employee committees, including the safety committee.
WORK TYPE AND SCHEDULESeasonal employment with daytime, nighttime, and weekend work availability.
PERKSFrequently required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to work on snow-covered or wet, slippery side slopes while carrying a load. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENTRegularly works in outside weather conditions and extreme cold/temperatures. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet/humid conditions and vibration. Occasionally works in high, precarious places and is exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
