Contract mining refers to the practice where mining companies hire specialized contractors to carry out mining operations instead of using their own workforce and equipment. In Spain, this approach allows mining firms to reduce costs, increase flexibility, and access skilled labor and modern machinery without significant capital investment. Contract mining is commonly used for both surface and underground mining projects, and contractors are responsible for tasks such as drilling, blasting, hauling, and sometimes even mine planning and rehabilitation.
