Job Description
As the Global Geochemistry Business Development Lead, you will drive the global growth of SGS's Geochemistry business through the execution of commercial strategies, key account management, and the identification of new market opportunities. You will strengthen commercial performance by leading major proposals, engaging directly with clients, and supporting regional success through the implementation of business systems and the sharing of best practices.
Working closely with regional teams and other SGS business groups, you will help develop value-added service offerings, enhance the client experience, and expand SGS's global commercial capabilities and market presence.
Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Strategy
  • Drive global geochemistry growth through geographic expansion, service innovation, pricing optimization, and strategic market development.
  • Identify emerging market trends, technologies, and commercial opportunities to support business growth.
  • Monitor regional performance, providing insight and support to maximize growth and profitability.

Key Account Management & Commercial Leadership
  • Lead Global Key Account Management activities for strategic clients and support regional KAM programs.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and review of major proposals, contracts, and RFPs.
  • Build strong client relationships and support the successful acquisition of strategic business opportunities.

Commercial Excellence
  • Strengthen regional commercial capabilities through training, tools, and best-practice sharing.
  • Drive consistency across business development, sales, key account management, and client service activities.
  • Develop standards and guidance to enhance client experience and service delivery globally.

Marketing, Systems & Innovation
  • Lead global marketing initiatives and represent SGS at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Champion continuous improvement of commercial and client-facing systems, including Salesforce and MyLab.
  • Support strategic investments, including major Capex initiatives and M&A evaluations.

Collaboration
  • Partner across SGS business lines to develop integrated, value-added client solutions.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
  • Scientific university degree in Analytical Chemistry, Geochemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven experience within a minerals laboratory, geochemistry, or mining services environment.
  • Expert knowledge of the mining and minerals industry and its commercial drivers.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, strategic growth, key account management, and client engagement.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable Skills
  • Additional language skills, particularly in French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Russian are advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering business growth and developing new opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills within a global, matrixed environment.
