Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) - Travel Contract
Location: Tuba City, AZ 86045
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: 4 x 10-Hour Evening Shifts (1:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
Start Date: 07/27/2026
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist (MT) to join a leading hospital laboratory in Tuba City, Arizona. This role involves performing complex laboratory testing in a fast-paced hospital environment while ensuring accurate specimen processing, quality control, and compliance with CAP/CLIA standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for laboratory professionals with strong experience in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis.
Responsibilities
  • Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Clinical Microscopy.
  • Process and analyze patient specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform quality control, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
  • Review and verify laboratory results before reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, and facility policies.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
  • Assist with specimen collection, processing, and storage.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff.
  • Rotate weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent hospital laboratory experience.
  • Experience in:
    • Blood Bank
    • Chemistry
    • Hematology
    • Microbiology
    • Coagulation
    • Urinalysis
  • Active Arizona State License (or eligibility if applicable).
  • ASCP or AMT Certification preferred/required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Hospital laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS).
  • Experience working in high-volume clinical laboratories.
  • Familiarity with CAP and CLIA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently during evening shifts.
Schedule
  • 4 x 10-Hour Evening Shifts
  • 1:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday (based on department needs)
