Job description

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Assigns complex and specialized alphanumeric codes to describe the type of service a patient will receive in the invasive cardiology and radiology setting.  Requires extensive, expert knowledge in coding, billing process, complex medical terminology, anatomy (normal and variant), CMS rules and regulations, invasive procedures and equipment used for these cases.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum Education
      • Graduate of radiologic technology program or nursing program

    • Minimum Experience
      • Minimum 2 years in Cath Lab, EP, Invasive Radiology, or OR

    • Required Registration/License/Certification
      • RN or RRT or RCIS
      • BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer
      • Within 1 year of placement obtain Certified Interventional Radiology and Cardiology Coder Certification

    • Preferred Education
      • CIRCC and RCIS, or RCVT, or RTCIT, or RN, or RRT

    • Preferred Experience
      • 2 + years in Cath Lab, EP, Invasive Radiology, or OR

    • Preferred Registration/License/Certification
      • CIRCC and/or RCIS  RCVT,  RTCIT,  RN, RRT

    • Other Requirements
      • N/A
