Job description

Shift: Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 10:30pm


Position Purpose

Oversee the quality of Vaupell manufactured parts by following a part-specific set of work instructions, defined by Quality Engineering in conjunction with customer drawings and specifications. QA inspector 2 will refine skills developed in their previous position and will become a resource for higher level QA duties, training and development.

Duties & responsibilities:

· Inspect parts using hand held M&TE and visual techniques.

· Use sample parts in comparison to current manufacturing orders.

· Understand work orders and work instructions, as well as verbal instruction.

· Understanding of lot sampling.

· Accept / Reject parts based on quality plans.

· Process parts physically and electronically using Vaupell software – Generate NCRs for discrepant parts.

· Create inspection records to validate QA procedures.

· Perform First Part buy-offs and in process inspections on Molding floor.

· Assist with internal audits of cells to ensure adherence to quality procedures.

· Creation and storage of new QA part samples

· Inspection of purchased goods – Receiving inspection (QRI)

· Assist in First Article Inspection (FAI)

· Assist in training of new team members to the quality values and standards

· Suggests improvements to QA processes to QA3 and above.

· Other duties as assigned

Qualification Guidelines

· Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)

Requirements:

· Good interpersonal and communication skills.

· Works well individually or within a team.

· Ability to understand and read/write in English.

· Ability to read aerospace drawings, blueprints and specifications.

· High School education or equivalent - Basic Math, problem solving & computer skills.

· Great attention to detail.

· Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

· Knows when to seek clarification on problems.

· Willingness to train other inspectors.

· 1 year relevant work experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain standing/walking through most of shift. The uncorrected or corrected vision in at least one eye shall be equal to or better than the following:

A. Distance Vision: 20/25

B. Vision at 14 Inches: Jaeger Number 2

C. Color Vision Normal
