What is a contract marketing associate?

A Contract Marketing Associate is a marketing professional hired on a temporary or project basis to support a company's marketing initiatives. Their responsibilities may include assisting with campaign planning, creating promotional materials, conducting market research, and analyzing marketing data. Unlike full-time employees, contract associates often work for a specific duration or until a particular project is completed. This role provides flexibility for both employers and marketing professionals, allowing companies to scale their teams as needed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract marketing associate?

To thrive as a Contract Marketing Associate, you generally need a background in marketing, strong analytical abilities, and experience with campaign management, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, email marketing platforms, and CRM systems is typically required. Strong communication, organizational skills, and adaptability help you excel in coordinating with multiple teams and managing shifting project priorities. These skills are crucial for delivering effective marketing campaigns and meeting client or organizational goals in a dynamic, contract-based environment.

What are some typical challenges a contract marketing associate might face when working with multiple clients or projects simultaneously?

As a Contract Marketing Associate, you may often juggle projects for various clients, each with distinct goals, timelines, and brand guidelines. Balancing these differing expectations and priorities requires strong organizational and communication skills. Common challenges include managing overlapping deadlines, adapting quickly to different industries, and ensuring consistent quality across all deliverables. Developing effective time management strategies and maintaining open communication with stakeholders can help you succeed in this dynamic role.

Job Description

Cricut's Digital Marketing team is looking for a highly organized, strategic, and passionate Associate Influencer Marketing Manager to help drive and grow our influencer marketing programs. We're specifically looking for someone with hands-on influencer marketing experience. You should understand the full lifecycle of a campaign and be confident in sourcing, vetting, negotiating, reviewing content, and managing paid usage rights.

This role requires more than just general marketing or social media experience. You'll be working alongside a team that collaborates closely across multiple marketing functions and relies on this role to help execute influencer campaigns with confidence, creativity, and attention to detail. If you love influencer marketing, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are excited about all things DIY, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Own influencer sourcing and vetting across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Evaluate creators using key criteria such as CPV, engagement rate, audience demographics, content quality, and brand fit
  • Lead communications with influencers and/or their managers from outreach through content approval and wrap-up. Ensure clarity, professionalism, and efficiency at every step
  • Negotiate influencer rates, contracts, usage rights, and exclusivity terms to align with campaign goals and budgets
  • Partner closely with our paid social agency to facilitate dark posting, ad codes, and usage of influencer content in paid campaigns
  • Provide clear, strategic, and detailed creative feedback to help influencers bring our messaging to life in a way that feels authentic and effective
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PR, social, product marketing, and digital. Align influencer efforts across larger brand moments and product launches
  • Monitor influencer performance metrics and help evaluate content effectiveness
  • Manage influencer payments and ensure proper documentation for finance and legal
  • Ensure all influencer content follows FTC guidelines and platform disclosure requirements
  • Cultivate strong relationships with creators to foster loyalty, repeat collaborations, and long-term brand advocacy
  • Stay plugged in to emerging influencer trends, platform shifts, and new talent to keep our programs fresh and innovative
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of direct experience in influencer marketing is required (in-house or agency)
  • Proven ability to manage influencer campaigns from outreach through performance reporting
  • Experience vetting influencers using performance data and brand alignment criteria
  • Strong understanding of paid usage rights, dark posting, ad codes, and exclusivity terms in influencer agreements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate feedback and campaign expectations
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills. Able to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and self-prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing influencer payments and basic budget tracking
Additional Information

A Quick Note Before You Apply...

Cricut is in a powerful chapter of transformation. We're evolving fast-refining our strategy, growing our teams, and raising the bar across the board. This is an incredible opportunity for the right kind of person-but it's not for everyone.

We're looking for A-players -people who don't just meet expectations, but consistently exceed them. If you thrive in dynamic environments and find joy in turning challenges into momentum, keep reading.

Here's what makes someone a great fit for this role (and for this moment at Cricut):

You have a bias for urgency.
You don't wait for perfect clarity to take action-you start, learn, and adjust. You believe that speed matters, especially when paired with thoughtfulness. You ask: "What can move forward today?" and push past inertia.

You set high standards-especially for yourself.
You're proud of your work and protective of your reputation. You take ownership, deliver quality, and don't cut corners. You hold yourself accountable without waiting to be asked.

You stay focused when things are moving fast.
You can identify what really matters and don't get distracted by noise. You prioritize well, and manage your time wisely.

You collaborate like a pro.
You elevate the people around you, communicate clearly, and give thoughtful feedback. You're low ego, high output-and your team loves working with you.

What to Do Next:
