Merit is located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, where we have two facilities less than a mile apart. We've poured over 15 million products and served over 13 million end users. Our continued growth has forced us to move locations 3 times in the last 3 years, and while we don't expect to need a new warehouse soon, we aren't planning to slow down.

SETUP/CHANGEOVER TECHNICIAN:
Summary of the Position:
Setup/Changeover Technician is responsible for safe and accurate line setups that produce good quality product with minimal scrap or downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand daily schedule and ensure line changeovers are completed in a timely manner
  • Set up equipment accurately so that first units produced after changeover meet quality standards
  • Retrieve bulk totes from compounding as needed to support production; ensure quality processes are followed
  • Tear down equipment in a way that prevents damage or loss; maintain organization of line-specific parts
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of primary equipment, change parts, hoses and pipes as required
  • Evaluate wear parts and ensure replacement; escalate to supervisor if inventory levels become low
  • Follow all SOPs, especially those related to PPE, quality approval and product quality
  • Assist Production Manager with project tasks as directed
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a 40 hour plus per week position. We staff our production team Mondays through Fridays with a standard 8-10 hour shift. Some weekend work will likely also be required.
