Job description

Huntsville, AL (Hybrid) Full-Time Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required

Build practical AI capabilities for defense simulation, training, analysis, and decision-support applications. You'll apply machine learning, LLMs, retrieval, optimization, and automation techniques to real engineering problems rather than research demos alone.

What you'll do
  • Develop AI-enabled software features using Python and modern machine learning or LLM frameworks
  • Build prototypes and production-oriented tools for simulation, training, analysis, or workflow automation
  • Design data pipelines, evaluation methods, and experiments to measure model performance and usefulness
  • Apply techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation, NLP, computer vision, planning, or optimization where appropriate
  • Integrate AI capabilities with existing software systems, databases, APIs, and user interfaces
  • Document assumptions, limitations, model behavior, and technical tradeoffs for engineering and customer audiences
What we're looking for
  • Experience building applied AI, machine learning, data science, or automation software in Python
  • Familiarity with modern AI/ML workflows, model evaluation, data preparation, and software integration
  • Ability to turn ambiguous operational or technical problems into testable AI-enabled prototypes
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Nice to have
  • Experience with LLMs, RAG, NLP, computer vision, autonomy, planning, optimization, or simulation evaluation
  • Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, or related tools
  • Experience with defense, aerospace, training systems, digital engineering, or cyber applications
  • Experience deploying AI tools into secure, offline, edge, or government environments
