Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Engineer to conduct Quality Assurance & Control to support a critical IT modernization effort for the Air National Guard (ANG). This position will be fully on-site at the subcontractor facility in Chantilly, VA with potential remote flexibility and travel up to 50%.
This role is primarily responsible for performing quality assurance & control activities across enterprise IT infrastructure deployments, validating compliance with technical standards, and supporting consistent execution of engineered solutions across all CONUS/OCONUS-based ANG installations. The QA/QC Engineer will help ensure deployment accuracy, system reliability, and security compliance across all sites.
Responsibilities
Conducts evaluation of network activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the network quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. Reviews network design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provides or directs verification and validation of network requirements, traceability, and testability.
  • Develops, publishes, and implements test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle.
  • Develops automated testing systems using commercial tools and data sets.
  • Participates in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing.
  • Assures the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software or hardware development process has an appropriate level of testing.
  • Ensures all components, operating systems, and network devices are STIG'd.
  • Design and build network services, equipment, and devices.
  • Review and validate test plans and procedures to ensure contractual requirements are met.
  • Develop and execute system requirements verification and customer acceptance tests.
  • Conduct regular testing and analysis of network hardware and software to identify vulnerabilities and performance issues; document findings.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control standards for network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve faults and optimize functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of network configurations, test results, incidents, and corrective actions for compliance and audits.

Qualifications
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • DoD 8140 Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND)
  • Network Performance Monitoring
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions (RCCA)
  • Understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) Standards: ISO 9001, IATF 16949
  • Experience with documentation and artifact logging
