The role of Service Sales Manager, part of the Global Service & Support segment of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Life Sciences Group, is to drive the strategic sales strategy for the overall region and lead a team of service sales reps to drive contract sales growth to meet plan and expand business within region. The Service Sales Manager will promote collaboration with cross function teams and partner closely with the Service Operations team, field service teams, marketing and product management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of service sales representatives to meet or exceed financial targets and drive contract revenue growth in each assigned sales territory.
  • Collaborate with leadership, field service and sales counterparts to prepare accurate monthly sales forecasts of contract orders (bookings) and revenue.
  • Inspire, coach and motivate to develop the teams' skillsets to ensure a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales targets and KPI targets are met.
  • Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the support groups to facilitate business operations.
  • Leads team to overcome obstacles and implement strategy and account management plans to drive incremental growth for the region with a focus on gaining new business opportunities.
  • Leverage Practical Process Improvement (PPI) to devise ways to streamline processes.
  • Demonstrate regular involvement with cross functional teams (marketing, product management, field service) on projects and sales initiatives to drive growth and improve internal processes.
  • Develops creative solutions and implements technology, tools and communications to keep sales team passionate about what matters most.
  • Continually develop knowledge of the business climate, product portfolio and competition for defined geography and accounts.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts and resolve customer complaints.
  • Successfully attracts, develops, and retains highly qualified sales professionals
  • Prepare reporting and presentations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Biological Sciences or Business Management highly preferred.
  • 7 + years proven track record of success in sales and account management in the life science industry.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and influence peers.
  • Exhibit strong leadership competencies and 4i values.
  • Continually involved with complex and critical leadership assignments/projects.
  • Accountability - self-starter, proactive and goal orientated.
  • Planning and organizing - ability to establish a clear course of action to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Time management - effective use of resources and systems, ability to prioritize activities, completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrates clear and concise communication and is capable of interacting with a diverse population of internal and external contacts.

  • 2+ years people leadership experience.
  • Marketplace/Scientific knowledge - knows customers' environment in research, clinical and diagnostics settings across a wide range of scientific workflow.
  • Understands markets, trends and competitors.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $92,000.00-$125,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
