Job description

Position Title: Software Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: Sep 2023 - Aug 2024
Scope of Work: This position is with our Assets and Facilities team, supporting critical platforms that effect every employee at the Lab. The focus of this role encompasses the design, development, implementation, maintenance, operation, and support of information applications relevant to the administration of Client's business systems. The work will include maintaining and operating existing business information systems, working with effective teams from multiple disciplines, and recommending and implementing technology standards and software development best practices. Our team leverages the Agile methodology for continuous iteration and development. Work is managed using JIRA and weekly hours will need to be tracked in an Excel spreadsheet. Code is to be checked in daily to our client's repository. All systems will be subject to review and correction by staff software engineers as well as acceptance by the users of the system(s).
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the design and development of JavaScript web applications, APIs, RESTful web services
  • Knowledge and experience with React 16 (or newer), ASP.NET Core, relational databases (SQL Server), JSON, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge and experience with software concepts such as MVC, React hooks, dependency injection, unit testing, OAuth2
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform (KeyVault, Application Insights)
  • Experience with DevOps concepts like Git, automated builds, automated testing, code scanning
  • Understanding of and experience with Agile delivery and Scrum facilitation
  • Experience in the development of complex software systems using industry best practices
