The IT Manager leads VSEโ€™s technology function, ensuring IT is a responsive support function and strategic business partner that enables our people andย businessย toย operateย efficiently, securely, and at scale.ย 

This role oversees IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems, software transitions, and technology projects across VSEโ€™s multi-state environment. The IT Manager partners closely with business leaders to understand needs, implement practical technology solutions, andย identifyย opportunities toย leverageย AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, decision-making, and business performance.ย 

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, business-minded technology leader who brings a Humble, Curious, and Electric approach to technology and partnership.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Partner with leaders across the organization to understand needs and deliver practical technology solutions.ย 

  • Manage IT operations across multiple states andย twoย locations.ย 

  • Oversee infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, hardware, software, and business applications.ย 

  • Lead software implementations, migrations, upgrades, integrations, and technology transitions.ย 

  • Support andย optimizeย ERPย (Infor Syteline)ย 

  • Serve as an AI thought partnerย toย the business.ย 

  • Identifyย opportunities to responsibly use AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve productivity and decision-making.ย 

  • Lead technology projects from planning through implementation.ย 

  • Manage priorities, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communication.ย 

  • Ensure successful adoption of new systems and technology through effective change management.ย 

  • Evaluate and manage vendors, service providers, and technology partners.ย 

  • Maintain cybersecurity, access controls, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.ย 

  • Ensure IT policies and practices support applicable compliance and business requirements.ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Technology, or related field; Masterโ€™s preferred.ย 
  • 5+ years of IT experience, including leadership or management experience.ย 
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and multi-state organization preferred.ย 
  • Experience leading software implementations, system transitions, and integrations.ย 
  • Strong understanding of ERP and manufacturing systems; Infor Syteline experience preferred.ย 
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business continuity.ย 
  • Strong project management, change management, and vendor management skills.ย 
  • Business-minded with strong communication and relationship-building skills.ย 
  • Demonstrated curiosity and interest in AI and emerging technology.ย
