Job description

An SAP FI Consultant with ISO 20022 expertise bridges banking and ERP architecture. In SAP S/4HANA,  configuring global payment formats (Pain.001, Pain.002, Camt.053). Responsibilities include gathering requirements, mapping payment files, managing multi-bank connectivity (H2H/SWIFT/EBICS), and ensuring seamless Procure-to-Pay (P2P) integration. 

Key Responsibilities in SAP S/4HANA

  • Advanced Payment Management (APM): Design and configure SAP S/4HANA Advanced Payment Management or classic Payment Medium Workbench (PMW) to generate ISO 20022 compliant XML files.
  • Bank Communication Management (BCM): Set up BCM for secure batching, status tracking (acknowledgments like Camt.052), and digital signatures for bank transmissions.
  • Bank Connectivity & Integration: Work with banking teams to map out Host-to-Host (H2H) or SWIFT/EBICS network connectivity and define communication channels.
  • Electronic Bank Statement (EBS): Configure Camt.053 and MT940 for automatic statement parsing, reconciliation, and open item clearing.
  • Master Data Maintenance: Define standard House Banks, Account IDs, and Payment Methods to align with the globally adopted ISO 20022 payment structures.
  • Cross-Module Integration: Ensure seamless flow of vendor data from the Materials Management (MM) and Accounts Payable (FI-AP) modules down to the banking interfaces.
  • Testing & Defect Resolution: Execute Unit Testing (UT), Integration Testing (IT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for end-to-end payment runs. 

 Qualifications & Requirements

  • Hands-on S/4HANA Experience: Deep understanding of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA), the New Asset Accounting, and SAP Fiori apps related to cash management.
  • Payment Formats: Strong working knowledge of ISO 20022 XML formats like pain.001 (Customer Credit Transfer), pain.002 (Status Report), and camt.053 (Statement).
  • Communication Protocols: Familiarity with data exchange security (Encryption, PGP, SFTP, and SWIFT networks).
  • Business Process Knowledge: Expert grasp of P2P (Procure-to-Pay) and O2C (Order-to-Cash) accounting workflows.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to conduct requirement-gathering workshops, translate business needs into technical specifications, and manage relationships with external banking vendors.
