Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented VP of Finance to join our team. This role is crucial in overseeing our general accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and auditors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for contributing to a family-oriented business environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including A/R, A/P, time billing, payroll, G/L, tax payments, and inventory control.
  • Assign and audit the work of the accounting staff, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of proper accounting systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of GAAP financial and accounting principles and internal control procedures.
  • Perform all basic accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, month-end closing, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, annual budget preparation, inventory roll forwards, and fixed assets and margin analysis; prepare supporting schedules for financial statements preparation
  • Act as the primary liaison with auditors for financial and 401K audits.
  • Communicate with customers regarding past-due invoices and provide regular updates to the management team.
  • Ensure all active projects are supported by valid contracts.
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions.
  • Perform financial analysis of operations on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA is a plus).
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in business software such as CRM systems, financial management tools, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
