Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience for a 12-week travel assignment in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab.

Details
  • Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab, including electrophysiology (EP) lab responsibilities
  • Adult cardiac patient population
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Call requirements include 5 weekdays and 1 weekend every 6 weeks
  • Weekend coverage is included within call requirements
  • May float within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab procedures
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required
  • ARRT-R or CCI RCIS certification required
  • GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration, if applicable
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, rotablator atherectomy, and TAVR
  • Experience with cardiac implant closure devices and scrub procedures
  • Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Proficient in equipment set up, sterile technique, and infection control practices
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, maintaining sterile field while scrubbing, and serving as room circulator
  • Follows isolation precautions and PPE protocols, and utilizes rapid response/code teams as needed
  • Maintains and operates cath lab equipment per protocol
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Accepts local candidates at the same bill rate
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and must be finalized at time of submission
  • If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested
  • If three major holidays fall within the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
  • Former Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or receive a facility DNR must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
